Playing Phonemo
You do not need to provide your name, email address, or other personal information to play Phonemo. Pings are checked in your browser against a static puzzle file. There are no accounts, no game database, and no analytics tracker. Phonemo does not collect your ping history or streak.
The hosting provider receives the ordinary technical information needed to deliver a website, such as an IP address, browser request information, and request times. Hosting and security logs are separate from your saved game history.
What stays in your browser
Phonemo uses localStorage to remember each puzzle's pings, whether you solved it, when you unlocked the syllable count, and your streak statistics. It also remembers whether you have already seen the introductory headline and rules.
This storage stays in the browser and device where you play. Clearing site data or using a different browser removes access to that local progress. You can remove it through your browser's site-data settings. If storage is unavailable, you can still play, but progress may not survive closing the page.
Advertising
Advertising is currently disabled. No AdSense script runs while it is disabled.
If advertising is enabled in the future, Google and other third-party advertising partners may use cookies or similar technologies to serve, measure, and personalize ads. Any required consent choices must be available before those services use your information. See Google's advertising privacy information and My Ad Center for Google's controls. This page will be updated when advertising is enabled.
Sharing and contact
Using Copy Share Text copies only your puzzle number and summary results to your clipboard. Phonemo does not post them anywhere. The share text excludes the answer and your pings.
If you contact us by email, we receive the address and information you choose to send. Please do not include sensitive information. Start the subject line with "PHONEMO: " so your message is easy to find. Questions about this policy can be sent through Contact.
